Like the other poster said there is no difference in what they do, its a regional thing. But if you are looking to work in labor and delivery, then you should go for your RN. LPN/LVN are being phased out of working in hospitals because RNs can do much more than the LVNs. Most LVN/LPNs work in nursng homes and doctors offices. You can also score a job working for the county jail or prisons. Plus the pay between the two is way different so my suggestion is go for your RN, preferrable your BSN to give yourself the best odds of landing that labor and delivery position.
